NFL Flag Football

Congratulations to The Dungworth Foxes Flag Football Team. We competed today (20.5.22) at Concord in the Sheffield regional tournament. We won 1 of the 4 games we played but were very competitive in all games, only marginally losing to the eventual tournament winners. Some standout moments included Alfie's interception, Freddie's running touchdowns, Alfie's passing touchdown to Joshua and Matilda's consistently incredible tackling. Well done! Looking forward to next year already.

Football - 31st January

Well done to our boys who entered the Y5/6 football competition on Monday. Everyone played really well and gave it a really good go.

We played 6 games, winning two of them. Our goal scorers were Madeon, Jake and Bradley.

Player of the tournament goes to Bobby Boswell who did an incredible job in goal for us and made some impressive saves.

Tag Rugby

Well done to the children who took part in the tag rugby event on Tuesday 9th November. You represented our school incredibly well and we are all very proud of your effort!

Structures

As part of our unit on structures in DT, we have now moved on to wooden structures. We thought in particular about creating gusset plates using card to strengthen the joins between wooden beams.

Structures

As part of our unit on structures in DT we thought about how to make strong straw structures so that we could build the tallest structures possible.

Tag Rugby

Congratulations to our pupils who attended the Year 5/6 mixed tag rugby tournament on Tuesday 12th October.

Rapid Recall mats

We recently invested in rapid recall mats from Year 1 to Year 6. They enable us to practice key skills on a regular basis and are perfect for spaced learning.

Rounding

While learning how to round numbers, we stumbled across a video with an interesting approach to how to round. It involved imagining a number line as a hill and it really helped with some of the children's understanding. Find a link to the video below as well as pictures of the children's whiteboards.
